FTI Contingent to the United State America

As FTI strives in becoming a center of excellence, it’s administration under the stewardships of Executive Director Joel Gamys crafted a five-year strategic plan which is projected between 2022_2027 and by which time she would achieve her goals in capacity building, infrastructure potency, academic excellence, amongst others. In these directions, she has embarked on fine-tune partnerships with major stakeholders such as US Forest Service, USAID, SCNL, UNDP, WCF, etc Moving forward, the FBC center of excellence, a higher education for conservation (HECA) project, sponsored by USAID of which FTI forms integral part, sponsored a month long capacity building engagement trip to the united states’ of America to beef up the capacities of the University of Liberia and forestry training institute workforces. In this light, the FTI’s contingent comprised of its Executive Director Joel Gamys, Deputy Executive Director for Instructions Rutland E.N Shilue and instructor of General forestry within the Biodiversity Conservation Miss Teta Bonar flew to the US on May 19,2024.While in the United States, the team will participate in capacity building workshops, engage Stakeholders in green Enterprise development, ecotourism potential and investment in Liberia, Soft skills integration into FBC classrooms technical instructions, etc. The team is expected to arrive Liberia after a month long engagements with partners and stakeholders in the USA move that will bolster FTI capacity and drive it’s bid of becoming a center of excellence in the Liberia forest sector workforce and institutions of higher education.
